About the position
- Responsibilities
- Analyzes new networking solutions, identifies potential security concerns, recommends approaches that can be used to mitigate identified risks, and works with technology teams to implement recommendations.
- Implement security controls developed by the business to mitigate risk during the development lifecycle.
- Implement tools and programs developed by senior staff to improve the security analysis process within the business.
- Keeps up to date on emerging security technologies and solutions.
- Provides client support, escalating consultation and information security subject matter expertise to senior members.
- Review provided requirements, design, code, test, implement, and support secure applications and solutions while maintaining knowledge of various programming languages, data analytics and automation tools.
- Works under supervision to implement security controls developed by the business to mitigate risk during the development lifecycle.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working in cybersecurity or related areas.
- Nice-to-haves
- Have attended a Verizon-sponsored cybersecurity conference/event in 2025.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and methodologies.
- Knowledge of programming languages/tools such as C++, Java, Node, Python, Ruby, Go, or Power Shell.
- Experience with large data sets such as BGP, netflow, DNS and IDS logs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think critically and identify risks.
- Fundamental computer forensics skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience or knowledge in one of the following areas: Network Security, Automation, Network Threat Hunting, Access Management, Security Defense.
