SUMMARY: A Workover Rig Floor Hand is responsible for performing services on oil wells utilizing a double, single, and Pole Rig. The duties of the floor hand include assisting in rigging up/down, pulling/laying rods, tubing, casing and other functions as specified by the rig operator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Β Picks up/lays down pipe and latches tubing in elevators
Β Rigging up & down, including handling guidewire hydraulic jacks, pads/boards, and emergency gear.
Β Handle tubing, rods, casing and associated equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods, etc. The rig hand will operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and associated equipment.
Β Assists in lifting, removing, installing and operating well head pump, jacks and performs other tasks as designated by the rig operator
Β Operates the mud pump
Β Manages tools on the workover rig floor and assists in daily maintenance
Β Attends and participates in safety meetings
Requirements
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma, equivalency or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have one - two (1-2) years of experience within oil and gas workover rigs, drilling rigs, production facilities, pipeline labor or equivalent experience.

Β Strong problem-solving skills to develop feasible realistic solutions to problems, recommending actions designed to prevent problems from occurring.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current Texas driverΒs license and a satisfactory driving record preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the following physical activity on a frequent to constant basis:
Β Stand for long periods of time.
Β Lift 50Β70 lbs. with or without assistance.
Β Able to quickly move hands, hands together with arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Β Coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.
Β Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Β Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information through verbal communications in person or detect objects in and around job site.
Β Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents; operate various types of machinery and handheld equipment.
Β Walk moderate distances on slippery, even, and/or uneven surfaces.
Β Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, or crawl.
Β Climb and balance on stairs, metal/wooden beams, ladders, or other structures/elevated areas.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Β Work primarily at job site performing work in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise depending upon project site; and may also include the following:
? dust, fumes, chemicals, and/or other harsh/hazardous solvents or disinfectants
? electrical components, power lines, or other electrical hazards
? rebar, blades, or other sharp objects/tools
? high elevations, trenches, or crawl spaces
Β Possible travel during the work day between jobsites, although some out-of-area travel may be expected with seldom overnight travel.
Β Work irregular hours to include nights and weekends.
