We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Virtual School Social Worker to join our team on a contract basis. This role allows you to provide vital services remotely while collaborating closely with educators, parents, and administrators.
Position Overview
You will work directly with K–12 students to address academic, social, and emotional needs. Responsibilities include assessments, counseling, family outreach, and participating in educational planning meetings — all conducted via secure virtual platforms.
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students virtually
- Conduct social–emotional assessments and create intervention strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Connect families with community resources
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
- Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings virtually
- Promote a positive and inclusive school environment
- Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Active, state-issued School Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker license/certification (requirements vary by state)
- In states where applicable: possession of a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential, School Social Work Endorsement, or equivalent
- Experience working in K–12 educational settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, and special education processes
- Reliable high-speed internet, webcam, and secure workspace for virtual sessions
