Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time position with school districts in the Reading, MA area. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate educators who are committed to supporting students with visual impairments and making a meaningful difference in their educational journey.
- Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts TVI license (required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field with emphasis on Visual Impairments
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies for students with visual impairments
- Experience working in a school-based setting preferred
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, families, and support staff
- Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in alignment with their IEP goals
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Teach Braille, use of assistive technology, orientation, and mobility skills as appropriate
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure accessibility in general education settings
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Support students across multiple grade levels as needed
