Sr. Data Engineer (Databricks/Cloud) - Remote (would need 4-5 hr. overlap with the Pacific Time) This is a senior technical contributor and developer role that requires a very good understanding of cloud architecture and highly scalable data workflows. The ideal candidate is very capable of high-quality work against technical and schedule challenges while following strong software design and process principles. The client is based in the bay area. You will work 100% remotely but the position needs 4-5 hours overlap with the team based on Pacific Time. What you will do: Design, develop and deliver company-wide solutions responsible for managing large volumes of data Ensure solutions are developed based on a high-quality, cloud-first scalable architecture. Support analysis and visualization of data for various stakeholders. Serve as a senior member of the project scrum team and follow industry best practice software development processes. Act as a technical mentor for other data platform developers. Key Requirements: β’ B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field. β’ 6+ years of solid commercial experience designing and building cloud-based solutions. β’ Strong experience in data warehousing -Databricks. β’ Must have experience in Public Cloud - GCP is preferred but not required. β’ The data ingested is specifically in support of sales/ operational pipelines, though that specific experience is nice to have but not required. β’ Detailed knowledge of challenges related to capturing and processing high volumes of data including Personally Identifiable Information (PII) β’ Working knowledge of at least one commercial or open-source data pipeline/platform. β’ Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, and Domo. β’ Experience or solid theoretical understanding of data workflows including: β’ Ingestion. β’ Batch and stream processing. β’ Storage and archiving. β’ Visualization/Reporting and Dashboards. β’ Experience with Machine learning is nice to have but not required. β’ Problem-solving and debugging skills. The key is experience with Cloud, Databricks, data pipelining, managing PII data, and data visualization. Duration - 6 Months + extendible Pay Rate - $60 to $80 per hr.
