The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) engages families for success.
Its Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) manages nearly 246,000 cases to
ensure that child support payments of $598 million per year reach families
across the Commonwealth. Virginia’s children need both financial and family
support to grow and thrive. Children with actively involved parents perform
better in school, have high self-confidence, and generally achieve greater
success in life. DCSE’s mission is to promote strong, self-reliant families by
delivering child support enforcement services, as provided by law, through the
location of noncustodial parents, establishment of orders, enforcement of
orders, collection of child support, and distribution of child support.

This position is responsible for ensuring DCSE’s employees have access to VDSS
and Non-VDSS systems and applications that are required to perform job duties
and provide assistance with any related access issues; ensure DCSE sensitive
systems meet Federal, Commonwealth of Virginia, and Agency security standards;
work with Information Systems and Risk Management (ISRM), TSD and Data Analytics
teams, network service providers and security staff to ensure federal and state
security requirements are included in SDLC activities; work with VDSS
Cyber-Security, ISRM and VDSS TSD in creating and maintaining all security
artifacts, scanning, tracking vulnerability remediation, and updating system
security plans to meet changing business, security, and technology requirements;
and will provide direct support to DCSE Business, DCSE Security Officers,
Information Systems and Risk Management (ISRM),VDSS, TSD, VITA and Data
Analytics teams, network service providers, and security staff.

    Responsibilities

    Requirements
  • Considerable working knowledge in DCSE applications and systems especially APECS/ iAPECS.
  • Considerable work experience in using the VCCC Service Now, ticketing system.
  • Basic knowledge in physical security requirements and understanding of information security practices and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently conduct research, analyze, interpret and apply complex federal and state statutes, regulations, policies, procedures, legislative documents and mandates.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop supportable conclusions and/or recommendations.
  • MS Office computer software application skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to triage incoming requests ensuring that priority items are addressed.
  • Demonstrated ability participating and documenting, contracts, MOU/ MOA and Data Share Agreements, providing input at development stage.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups of organizations and people.
