Job Summary The Vice President, Life and Annuities is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and onboarding independent insurance agents and advisors into the FMO’s annuity platform. This role drives advisor growth, supports premium expansion, and strengthens the distribution network. This position is designed as a career growth track role. While the primary responsibility is recruiting and activation of new advisors, the individual will progressively develop expertise in case design, product positioning, and sales strategy — ultimately contributing directly to production growth and team revenue. Job Description Key Responsibilities 1. Advisor Recruiting Source independent agents, agencies, and hybrid advisors through outbound outreach, referrals, events, and digital campaigns. Conduct discovery calls to assess production potential, product mix, and market focus. Present the FMO’s value proposition, carrier portfolio, and support platform. Guide advisors through contracting and onboarding processes. Maintain consistent recruiting pipeline activity within CRM. Collaborate with marketing on recruiting campaigns and event strategies. 2. Advisor Activation & Early Production Support Assist newly contracted advisors with submitting first business within 30–60 days. Coordinate introductions to marketers and internal sales support. Support early product positioning conversations. Monitor early-stage pipeline and proactively re-engage inactive recruits. 3. Progressive Case Design Development As product knowledge and experience grow, responsibilities expand to include: Assisting marketers with basic annuity case illustrations. Reviewing client scenarios (age, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, income goals). Supporting product comparisons across leading carriers such as: Preparing product illustrations and income rider comparisons. Participating in strategy calls with advisors and marketers. 4. Training & Development Path The Recruiter will follow a development track: Phase 1 – Recruiting Focus: Pipeline building, contracting & onboarding, CRM discipline, value proposition delivery Phase 2 – Product Proficiency: FIA, MYGA, and income rider education, illustrations/quoting, suitability fundamentals Phase 3 – Case Design Contribution: Running illustrations independently, designing income plans, participating in advanced strategy conversations, and contributing directly to premium placement 5. Performance Tracking Weekly recruiting activity metrics (calls, appointments set, contracts submitted) Contribution to case design and submitted premium (as role evolves) Qualifications Required 1–5 years in recruiting, sales, insurance, or financial services. Strong outbound communication skills. Comfortable with high activity levels and pipeline management. Highly coachable and growth-oriented mindset. Preferred Experience in annuities or life insurance. Understanding of retirement income concepts. Insurance license (or willingness to obtain quickly).
