Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ListLab is a credible, funded, remote-first startup seeking a Fractional CMO focused on Brand, Content & Storytelling. The role involves developing a core narrative, designing the website, and creating messaging that resonates with diverse audiences while establishing a strong visual identity. Responsibilities β€’ Tell our story β€” develop the core narrative that explains what we're building, why it matters, and who it's for β€’ Design the website β€” create the UI/visual design and copy for primary pages, landing pages, and blog (Figma, Webflow, or similar) β€’ Own the full page experience β€” information architecture, layout, typography, imagery, copy, and interaction patterns β€’ Create messaging for diverse audiences β€” craft copy that resonates with multiple avatars without feeling diluted or generic β€’ Educate, don't compare β€” help people understand how to apply this new thing to their existing workflows (we're not competing on features; we're creating a new category) β€’ Build design and content systems β€” establish UI components, templates, and guidelines that the team can execute on after you've set the direction β€’ Define visual identity β€” color, typography, iconography, imagery style, and how these reinforce the brand narrative β€’ Set the editorial and visual tone β€” define the voice and look that will carry through all touchpoints, from blog posts to onboarding emails Skills β€’ Proven experience in brand storytelling, category creation, and foundational messaging at a startup or early-stage company β€’ Strong portfolio showing website design (UI) AND copy β€” you've done both, not just one β€’ Experience speaking to audiences of varying sophistication simultaneously β€” from seasoned VCs to first-time investors, from power users to complete beginners β€” without talking down or over anyone's head β€’ Experience messaging to diverse, multi-segment audiences without defaulting to lowest-common-denominator copy β€’ Comfortable with 'explain the new' β€” you've helped audiences understand unfamiliar products or services before β€’ Strategic thinker who can also execute β€” you can set direction, design the page, and write the first draft β€’ Strong visual design sensibility β€” typography, layout, color, imagery, whitespace β€’ Comfortable working fractionally β€” you've juggled multiple clients and know how to deliver value in limited hours β€’ Experience with category creation or 'blue ocean' positioning is a major plus β€’ Startup experience preferred β€” you know how to move fast with imperfect information Company Overview β€’ AI-native SaaS marketplace creating new infrastructure in fintech, alternative investments, and workflow automation It was founded in 2025, and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, US, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
