Job Description

The Wisconsin Historical Society is a prominent historical institution in the state of Wisconsin, and they are seeking a Box Office Customer Service Associate. This role involves providing excellent customer service to patrons, managing ticket sales, and troubleshooting event-related issues through effective communication and support.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor phone calls and box office email address to assist customers with inquiries and purchasing across WHS
  • Maintain knowledge of current WHS events and experiences for sale through the online store and sold directly through the site/location
  • Ascertain and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and/or requests in a courteous and timely manner with guidance from supervisor as needed
  • Understand and communicate purchasing policies to customers
  • Collect complete and accurate data from customers to correctly process payments and reconcile transactions
  • Support the creation of tickets for events across WHS spaces to ensure accurate attendance data
  • Support general ticketing monitoring
  • Configure event templates and related buildout in ACME Ticketing system
  • Support ACME Ticketing Users with troubleshooting needs
  • Support ticket system onboarding for new users

Skills

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to work efficiently
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and pleasantly with customers and other staff
  • Ability to learn and implement required WHS values and policies
  • Excellent computer skills and digital literacy, including a strong understanding of MS Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures and fiscal responsibility, including PCI compliance
  • Skills in basic arithmetic (math)
  • Willingness to work flexibly
  • Ability to work select weekends, and some evenings and holidays
  • Knowledge of e-commerce, Point of Sales systems, and/or ticketing systems preferred
  • Specific knowledge of ACME Ticketing a plus
