About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Fairview Health Services' Burnsville Cancer Clinic involves providing nursing care to oncology patients in a busy ambulatory clinic environment. The role includes triage, assessments, planning, coordination, and delivery of care, with a focus on supporting patients with complex medical and surgical conditions related to hematology and oncology. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and may have hybrid scheduling options.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to oncology patients via triage and assessments.

Coordinate and document patient treatment calendars and plans.

Assist with patient education and discharge instructions.

Manage telephone calls from patients and communicate lab/test results.

Utilize EMR to update medical records and ensure accurate documentation.

Support patients and physicians in a fast-paced cancer clinic environment.
Requirements
Valid RN MN License
,
BLS for healthcare providers
,
Current Oncology Certified Nurse Certification or ability to obtain within 1-2 years of hire
,
2-3 years of chemotherapy administration and infusion experience
,
Competencies in IV insertions including central lines, PICC, Ports, and Peripheral IV placement
,
Experience in administering antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies, chemotherapy, and blood products.
