- Underwrites new and renewal property and casualty business
- Analyzes policy forms, broker endorsement requests, and submitted documentation
- Determines whether to accept, modify or decline a risk
- Determines appropriate coverage limits and insurance premiums
- Delivers services for new property and casualty business and renewals
- Examines, identifies, and evaluates exposures
- Provides premium forecasts and business plans
- Maintains existing broker relationships
- Builds professional, long-term relationships with brokers
- Creates opportunities for new business
- Executes marketing activities, attends seminars and training
- Stays informed about industry trends
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial and Business Administration required
- 5+ years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting
- Must meet minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus
