The plaintiff is a property‑owning titled company, and the matter involves municipal actions that have interfered with lawful development rights.

A subject‑matter‑experienced paralegal has already completed substantial background work, including factual organization, document review, and preliminary drafting. I now require a licensed NJ attorney to take the lead, refine the legal strategy, finalize filings, and represent the client.

Scope of Work

1. Case Review & Legal Strategy

  • Review all prepared materials, factual summaries, and draft pleadings
  • Assess federal vs. state filing strategy (District of NJ or NJ Superior Court)
  • Identify constitutional violations, discriminatory actions, and applicable claims

2. Drafting & Filing the Complaint

  • Finalize a litigation‑ready §1983 complaint
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Federal Rules of Civil Procedure or NJ Court Rules
  • District of New Jersey local rules (if federal)
  • Pleading standards under Twombly / Iqbal
  • Prepare all required supporting documents (civil cover sheet, summonses, certifications)

3. Representation

  • File the action on behalf of the titled property‑owner company
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and/or township representatives
  • Advise on next steps, including motions, discovery, and potential settlement posture

Required Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey law license (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • Civil rights litigation (§1983)
  • Municipal discrimination or land‑use related claims
  • Federal or state court filings in New Jersey
  • Ability to take over a case with existing paralegal groundwork
  • Strong drafting skills and familiarity with constitutional and property‑rights issues

Preferred Experience

  • Prior litigation against municipalities or government entities
  • Knowledge of land‑use law, zoning disputes, or development‑related discrimination
  • Experience representing LLCs or property‑holding companies

Deliverables

  • Finalized and filed §1983 complaint (federal or state)
  • All required supporting documents
  • Attorney‑of‑record representation for the matter
  • Strategic guidance on litigation posture and next steps

To Apply

Please include:

  • Confirmation of your active NJ law license
  • Summary of your civil rights and municipal litigation experience
  • Examples of similar cases you have handled (general descriptions only)
