Position Summary:
AVI Career Training is seeking a qualified and dedicated Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Instructor to teach and mentor students enrolled in our state-approved CNA program. The instructor will deliver both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training to prepare students for successful entry into the healthcare field and the Virginia CNA certification examination.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging and effective classroom and clinical instruction in accordance with the Virginia Board of Nursing and program-approved curriculum.
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, presentations, skills demonstrations, and evaluation materials aligned with learning objectives.
- Instruct students in foundational nursing skills such as taking vital signs, personal hygiene assistance, patient safety, infection control, and communication techniques.
- Supervise and assess students in laboratory simulations and clinical rotations at affiliated healthcare facilities.
- Monitor and document student attendance, participation, skills performance, and academic progress.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to help students meet learning goals.
- Ensure that all instruction reflects up-to-date clinical practices and complies with state regulations.
- Maintain classroom discipline and foster a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in preparing students for the CNA certification exam by reinforcing testable skills and knowledge.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Education to ensure program success and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that clinical site guidelines and safety protocols are followed by all students.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current, unencumbered license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in long-term care or geriatric care.
- Certification: Must meet the Virginia Board of Nursingβs requirements for Nurse Aide Instructor approval.
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching or training CNA students is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Competence in using technology such as Zoom and learning management systems (e.g., Milady CIMA) for hybrid instruction is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
