Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant in our Gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct patient care and support to our healthcare team
- Performing phlebotomy, preparing specimens for transport to labs, and conducting simple laboratory procedures
- Taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting with patient flow
- Utilizing electronic medical records and computer programs for data entry and retrieval
- Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and presenting professionally in all interactions
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a Medical Assistant educational program preferred but not required
- Certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required
- Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience
- Phlebotomy skills preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
