Apply API Engineer II Fully Remote β’ PA Apply Description Role Overview: We are seeking a Backend Engineer II to deliver high-quality APIs and workflow services with a focus on interoperability and AI-enablement use cases. You will have growing responsibilities within the engineering team, working closely with senior engineers to develop robust backend solutions that support healthcare workflows. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and maintain API endpoints and backend services. Implement business workflows, validations, and integrations across internal systems and partner APIs. Assist with FHIR API development and resource mapping under the guidance of senior engineers. Help package approved services for AI consumption by creating well-structured service interfaces and applying MCP-related patterns. Write unit tests, integration tests, and maintain clear developer documentation. Participate in design discussions, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution. Qualifications: Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2-4 years of backend development experience. Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and service-layer design principles. Experience with relational databases and data transformation processes. Familiarity with healthcare data models or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn FHIR concepts. Experience deploying or supporting services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong problem-solving skills and solid engineering fundamentals. Preferred Experience: Proficiency with Python, Java, Node.js, or similar backend languages commonly used for API development.
