• The Multilingual Program Department offers Adult ESL classes for GISD parents.


• Classes will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings from August to March.

• Certified teacher with three (3) or more years of teaching experience


• Bilingual certification or ESL Endorsement


• Prior experience teaching English to speakers of other languages


• Work hours will be Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.


• ESC teachers will attend the ESC Graduation, which MAY be held on the weekend

• Knowledge of principles for adult learning


• Knowledge of instructional best practices for online learning


• Flexible teaching style, open-minded, patient, and encouraging instructor


• Knowledge of effective teaching and sheltered instruction strategies


• Ability to instruct adults in an environment that promotes student engagement


• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work effectively with others in a virtual or face-to-face environment


• Ability to develop and supplement content-specific materials


• Capable of conducting group and individual lessons providing differentiated


• instruction as needed (virtually or face-to-face)


• Strong technological skills


• Exemplary attendance record (absences/tardiness)
