Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled EMS Dispatcher to join our team at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. As a Remote EMS Dispatcher, you will be responsible for dispatching ground transportation teams, communicating with referring and receiving physicians, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of emergency medical services, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch ground transportation teams and follow flights during transport
- Communicate with referring and receiving physicians, nursing staff, 911 dispatch centers, and EMS personnel
- Multi-task while maintaining effective communication skills in stressful situations
- Relay medical information to hospital departments and direct authorities to the appropriate place on campus
- Monitor video and intrusion systems and dispatch internal patient transportation
- Respond to Lifeline emergency calls and enter data into database systems for information gathering and report generation
Requirements:
- EMT-Basic certification or equivalent with current licensure in Minnesota or Wisconsin
- Ability to complete EMT-Basic and obtain licensure in Minnesota or Wisconsin within one year from date of hire
