Lab Data Entry Specialist – Overnight Shift
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Data Entry Specialist to join our team in Maywood, NJ. As a key member of our diagnostic laboratory, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our specimen processing and data entry functions.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Process incoming samples and input data into the computer system, creating accurate labeling for samples
- Handle enclosed samples with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without directly touching open swabs or performing tests on the samples
- Work with COVID-19 samples, as well as other samples such as blood, stool, urine, biopsies, and other human samples
- Review, transcribe, and enter demographic and specimen data into the laboratory information system with 100% accuracy
- Recognize specimen problems and refer to designated personnel
- File Requisition Slips, glass slides, and paraffin blocks, assisting Laboratory Aides as needed
- Perform supply maintenance and clean-up duties to enhance workflow and efficiency
- *Additional Skills & Qualifications:**
- Ability to type accurately at a speed of 30 words per minute (WPM)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and data entry software
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

- Shift: 9pm to 6am (overnight)
- Location: Maywood, NJ
