Role Description
- The candidate chosen to fill this position will assist in compliance efforts for preconstruction planning, construction, and postconstruction operations and maintenance, primarily for the oil and gas market.
- Assist a team of environmental professionals in helping clients maintain environmental compliance with Federal, State, County, and Local permit conditions and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with contractors, clients, resource monitors, environmental inspection staff, and agency representatives to ensure compliance with permit requirements and mitigation plans.
- Gather and track data required for regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the regulatory/permit compliance liaison between agencies and clients.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with diverse project stakeholders regarding project status, schedules, and compliance issues.
- Adhere to the safety program and communicate and mitigate safety hazards.
- Coordinate and perform multiple tasks while understanding project requirements and technical skills.
- Produce various work assignments requiring advanced analytical ability, independent judgment, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Work flexible hours with a sense of urgency to meet unexpected compliance items.
- Complete individual tasks of low to medium complexity or duration with supervision.
- Execute inspection coordination tasks for due diligence, construction, as-builts, or reclamation activities.
- Comply with developed permit plan and conditions.
- Perform QA/QC of own work/data with minimal revisions.
- Complete small to medium reporting tasks.
- Troubleshoot routine problems with oversight.
- Apply basic knowledge of environmental resources and construction procedures to job from prepared reports/surveys.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- At least one year of relevant field and industry experience in environmental compliance, potentially including serving as an environmental inspector, preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat, required.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting laws and processes, preferred.
- Experience participating in audits according to local, state, and federal regulations, preferred.
- Experience in compliance inspection on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) projects, preferred.
- Requirements
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaborate with local leadership.
- Ability to work from home with the possibility of 1-2 project site visits yearly.
- Position pays overtime when more than 40 hours per week are worked on client projects.
