Job Title: Head Chef – Remote Mining Camp (Northern Washington)
Schedule: 14/14 rotation (on-site housing & meals provided)
Pay: $24 – $32/hr + overtime + perks
About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Head Chef / Lead Cook to lead kitchen production for our 100-person remote mining camp in Northern Washington. You’ll be responsible for planning and executing high-calorie, nutritionally balanced menus (4,000+ calories/day), supervising cooks and prep staff, maintaining food quality and safety, overseeing portion control and minimizing waste — all in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily kitchen operations and meal production for 100 workers, ensuring consistency, quality, and timeliness.
- Plan and execute high-calorie, satisfying menus suitable for physically demanding work schedules.
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen cooks and prep staff; enforce kitchen standards and procedures.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Manage inventory, portion control, waste reduction, and ordering of food supplies and ingredients.
- Ensure proper storage, food rotation, and temperature control.
- Work collaboratively with camp leadership to optimize kitchen operations. Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in high-volume cooking, institutional food service, or similar culinary environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills; capable of directing kitchen staff effectively.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills under pressure.
- Current Food Worker Card and ServSafe Manager certification — or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, rotational (14/14) work environment. Preferred Experience
- Prior experience cooking for remote camps, mining camps, industrial sites, or other rotational work environments.
- Familiarity with logistical challenges of inventory and food delivery scheduling.
- Ability to adapt menus for diverse dietary needs and preferences. What We Offer
