Fully Remote Special Education Teacher Needed in Connecticut
Location: Remote
Position Type: Hourly, Contracted
Pay: $33.25-35.50/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Special Education Teacher with a masters degree or higher for a remote position. This role involves providing direct and indirect educational support to high school students with special needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver remote instruction and support tailored to the needs of high school students with special education requirements.
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to address students' specific needs and goals.
Provide instruction across various subjects, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate students' learning styles and needs.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
Utilize teletherapy platforms effectively to conduct lessons and engage with students.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP documentation, and other relevant data.
Provide guidance and strategies to parents and teachers to support students' academic and personal development.
Participate in professional development and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in special education.
Qualifications:
Masters degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
Valid Special Education certification or license.
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching high school students with special education needs is preferred.
Strong knowledge of high school educational processes, IEP development, and best practices in special education.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional home office environment.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
