Project Overview

I am seeking a consultant to develop a comprehensive, investor- and grant-ready business plan for Sabbath Center for Healing and Restoration, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation in development.

Sabbath Center will serve homeless and at-risk mothers through a structured transitional housing model that integrates case management, life skills development, financial literacy, parenting education, and holistic restoration programming.

This is a hybrid model — values-informed and dignity-centered, while fully compliant with federal, state, and local government funding requirements.

I am seeking a strategic partner who can help architect a scalable, fundable, and operationally sound organization from the ground up.

Engagement Scope

The selected consultant will:

Facilitate strategic discovery sessions

Refine mission, positioning, and program model

Conduct Southern California market and needs analysis

Design a structured, high-accountability transitional housing framework

Develop a compliant hybrid programming structure eligible for government contracts

Architect governance and organizational structure

Build a 3–5 year pro forma financial model

Outline capital stack strategy (government grants, private foundations, earned income, CDFI financing, philanthropy)

Identify potential funding pathways and readiness gaps

Create implementation roadmap and phased growth plan

Produce a professional, board-ready and funder-ready final document

Ideal Consultant Profile

10+ years experience in nonprofit strategy or social enterprise consulting

Proven work with transitional/supportive housing models

Demonstrated success securing or positioning organizations for government funding

Deep understanding of 501(c)(3) governance and compliance

Strong financial modeling and capital strategy expertise

Experience working with founder-led or early-stage organizations

Experience in California housing and human services funding is strongly preferred.
