- *About the Role**
As a Data Entry Specialist on our EHR Transition Project, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless migration of patient records from our current system to the new EHR platform. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of healthcare data entry principles, and the ability to work within a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Accurately extract and enter clinical data (e.g., demographics, medications, diagnoses, visit notes) into the new EHR platform
- Source material will include PDF files and exported records from our previous EMR
- Adhere to structured templates and naming conventions to maintain data consistency and integrity
- Work within a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment (e.g., via remote desktop or secure cloud system)
- Collaborate with our project team to ensure timely completion of data entry tasks and resolve any technical issues that may arise
- *Essential Qualifications**
- Must be U.S.-based and legally able to sign a HIPAA-compliant Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
- Proven experience in healthcare data entry or EHR transition projects
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality when handling Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Familiarity with PHI handling standards and HIPAA best practices
- Prior experience working with EHR systems is preferred, but not required
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working with EHR systems, such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech
- Knowledge of healthcare data entry software and tools, such as Kareo or Athenahealth
- Certification in healthcare data entry or a related field (e.g., Certified Medical Coder (CMC) or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA))
