- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide fast, friendly, and personalized service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance
- Learn about products and services using our tools and resources, and provide information to customers to drive sales and revenue growth
- Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and develop a deep understanding of their needs and preferences
- Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe for customers
- Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty
- Work collaboratively with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments, to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, promotions, and sales strategies to effectively communicate with customers and drive sales growth
- *Essential Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly about new products and services
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or related environment
- Knowledge of building materials, decor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen and bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
- Experience with sales software and technology, such as CRM systems and sales analytics tools
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to track sales performance and customer satisfaction metrics
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
