Job Description

The Wyanoke Group is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant for Healio News to support their mission of providing high-quality news content for physicians. The role involves assisting editors with content creation, transcribing interviews, and managing various clerical tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Assisting editors with the creation of online and print news content
  • Transcribing interviews
  • Brief writing assignments that cover multiple medical specialties
  • Contacting sources for corrections, commentary or artwork
  • Conducting brief interviews
  • Posting articles to Healio website
  • Producing email newsletters
  • Providing general clerical and research support as needed

Skills

  • A bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field
  • General knowledge of grammar, usage and style
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities for potentially more than one supervisor
  • Professional demeanor
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Journalism experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and social media
