- Develop and deploy a modern, unified communications strategy that builds Humana's corporate reputation among key audiences, including media, attentive public, healthcare influencers, and consumers
- Be a strong and dynamic senior leader with a track record of successfully shaping and implementing compelling communications campaigns
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of communications work against core objectives and identify areas for improvement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry associations, journalists, ensuring alignment and support for the company's initiatives
- Navigate complex regulatory environments by developing clear and compliant communication strategies related to Medicaid, Medicare, and other healthcare regulations
- Lead the development and execution of sophisticated issue mitigation plans, ensuring the company is prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any potential needs
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on external communication matters, including speechwriting and media training
- Partner closely with teams across Corporate Communications, Business Functions, and Operations to align on high-visibility campaigns and business needs
- Be part of a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Ensure a modern, digital-first approach to the use of both traditional and social media channels to influence key stakeholders
- Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Political Science
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on external communications
- Proven experience in complex business environments and regulatory industries
- Strong understanding of the Healthcare sector
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder communications and build relationships with diverse audiences
- Experience in crisis communications and media relations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
