About the Role
This opportunity is for a Data Analyst/Programmer supporting the implementation of a new Workday Student Information System (SIS). The role plays a critical part in migrating data from legacy student platforms into Workday, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity throughout the transition process.
Working under the guidance of a senior IT data specialist and in close collaboration with functional subject matter experts, this position focuses on SQL development, data extraction, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and documentation of data handling procedures.
- What You’ll Do
- Create, test, and execute SQL queries and scripts to extract data from multiple legacy systems for migration into Workday Student.
- Assist in preparing and formatting extracted data for successful migration.
- Perform validation checks to confirm successful data extraction.
- Conduct data quality checks on legacy data prior to migration.
- Run validation queries to ensure migrated data loads correctly into Workday.
- Document and escalate data validation issues for resolution.
- Compare reports from legacy systems and Workday to identify discrepancies or gaps.
- Record reconciliation results in project tracking tools.
- Maintain detailed documentation of migration steps, validation results, and updates.
- Collaborate with IT staff and business users to investigate and resolve data mismatches.
- Clearly document issues identified during testing and assist in tracking them through resolution.
- Communicate findings in a clear and concise manner to business stakeholders when needed.
- Qualifications
- Experience writing and executing SQL queries for data extraction and validation.
- Strong understanding of data migration, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to analyze discrepancies between systems and identify root causes.
- Experience documenting technical workflows and validation results.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
