POSITION TITLE: Clinical Research Contract Specialist

The Clinical Research Contract Specialist completes the responsibilities listed below. The Clinical Research Contract Specialist works directly with the Clinical Research Accounting Specialist and Contract & Finance Manager with limited supervision by the Clinical Research Director. They will ensure that responsibilities are completed in a timely, consistent and up-to-date manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ยท Negotiates all initial clinical trial contracts, budgets, and agreements
ยท Renegotiates established contracts, budgets, and agreements as needed
ยท Obtains contract executions on all contracts, budgets, and agreements within 60 days of receipt
ยท Obtains signatures on documents within 2 business days through electronic signature process.
ยท Reviews and determines budget amendment requests necessity and completes those requests as necessary
ยท Negotiates master service agreements with all sponsors, CROs, and third parties that self-renew with built-in inflation increase language
ยท Creates and executes affiliate agreements and statements of work for affiliate groups
ยท Evaluates and maintains insurance credentials for contract liabilities for AARA, AARR, and Affiliate Sites
ยท Identifies vendors and staff roles through protocol review during contracting using vendor dashboard, and notifies project manager of any unmet needs
ยท Establishes and renews vendor and third-party contracts, accounts, and financial agreements based on site and protocol needs
ยท Provides completed contract and accounting information required for study start-up on the study dashboard and notifies admin team of contract execution completion
ยท Performs quality assurance and control on all contracts, budgets, agreements, and document repository
ยท Updates CTMS study build with protocol, budget, and staff amendments and any changes as needed
ยท Provides meaningful metrics on budget profits, negotiation efficiency, and increase rates from initial offers
ยท Creates and maintain site cost analysis information
ยท Develops and maintain a research rate card in accordance with Fair Market Value
ยท Maintains accurate document management on shared drive of all contracts, budgets, and agreements, to include both clean and fully executed versions for all
ยท Works with various staff members, coordinators, department managers, physicians and vendors to understand impacts and requirements of new study protocols
ยท Cultivates positive relationships with Sponsors/CROs and vendors to understand processes and create mutual opportunities for improvement
ยท Seeks and vets new opportunities for the research department to achieve company and department improvements, goals and objectives
ยท Assists with additional duties as needed and assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
ยท Associates Degree, Bachelors preferred
ยท Knowledge of clinical research and medical terminology
ยท 5 years experience in contract and budget negotiating for clinical trials
ยท Strong computer skills with Excel, Microsoft Word, Clinical Conductor
ยท Excellent written and verbal communication
ยท Must be detail oriented and organized
ยท The ability to work in a fast pace environment and be flexible
ยท Ability to sit at desk for entire work day (8hrs)
ยท Self-Starter and can work independently

Expected hours: 20 ย 30 per week
