Job Description
Very established non-profit organization with religious and educational programs is seeking a hands-on CFO to oversee all things financial for them.
This role is remote, however you do need to live in the Eastern Time Zone ideally.
- Duties will include:
- Lead and manage the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and long-term sustainability.
- Oversee daily cash flow management, prepare and present financial statements and reports, and ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Monitor and manage endowment funds, working with investment advisors to ensure ethical compliance, optimal performance, and values-driven investment strategies.
- Reconcile institutional expenses, vendor payments, and credit card transactions while maintaining cost controls and promoting financial integrity.
- Serve as primary liaison for audits, ensure federal and state regulatory compliance, and report on donor-restricted funds, accreditation, and government requirements.
- Incorporate IT infrastructure and facilities costs into capital planning and long-term budget forecasts, supporting campus improvements and technology investments.
- Collaborate on financial aid and student account processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation, compliance, and effective tuition billing and collections.
- The ideal candidate will have:
- 15+ years of experience
- Hands-on accounting AND leadership skills.
- Non-profit, Religious org experience
- Higher ed, tuition-based program environment is ideal.
- Advanced degree and/or CPA are a plus
This role pays a salary of $130-140k with good benefits.
