About the position
- Responsibilities
- Greets customers immediately upon entering the store
- Operates cash/credit transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Balances cash drawers, including opening and closing of daily drawers
- Receives, sorts, and opens new merchandise as directed
- Carries up to 50 lb boxes of merchandise as needed
- Straightens merchandise including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning shelves and displays
- Assists in setting up displays and signs
- Fills in for employees during absences, breaks, and high volume periods
- Picks, processes, and packs orders for shipping
- Works at remote locations during events such as sporting events and graduations
- Takes inventory as needed and may be responsible for ordering general merchandise items
- Proficient with computers and POS systems
- Requirements
- Strong customer service skills including effective communication
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Proficient with computers and POS systems
- Safe money handling procedures and secure transaction practices
- Organization skills necessary
