We’re Hiring Writers for Our Nation Papers
Print is back—and it’s never been more fun.
Do you have a knack for making information irresistible? Are you the kind of writer who asks, “Why does the reader care?”—and actually answers it?
We’re looking for experienced writers to join our Nation team and contribute to our growing family of monthly print newspapers: Crochet Nation, Knit Nation, and Baking Nation, with new titles like Gardening Nation, Quilting Nation, Woodworking Nation, and Cross-Stitch Nation launching this fall.
This is not your average content mill.
Our writing is:
Playful & humorous but not fluffy
Charismatic but not self-indulgent
Informative but never boring
Each piece is under 900 words and delivers high-value storytelling, how-to advice, or historical deep dives in a niche the reader loves. One month it might be The History of the Crochet Hook. Another, it’s Why Quilters Love Log Cabins. Or maybe it’s A Guide to Growing Strawberries in Raised Beds. You’ll write them all.
We’re looking for writers who:
Have proven writing experience (journalism, editorial, blog, or branded content)
Know how to distill dense info into engaging, practical takeaways
Can write in a voice that’s warm, clever, and clear
Thrive in fast-paced editorial workflows with weekly assignments
Are curious and confident entering unfamiliar topics—you don’t need to be a crochet expert to write about crochet (but we love it if you are!)
