Job Overview
Whitners Moving is seeking an experienced Business Compliance & Licensing Coordinator to support federal and Ohio regulatory filings for a transportation / moving company.
This is a short-term, project-based role focused on completing specific compliance tasks related to USDOT / FMCSA, Ohio BWC, PUCO, insurance coordination, and contract readiness. This is not a quality assurance, pharmaceutical, or clinical compliance role.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with transportation or logistics compliance and can work independently to complete filings accurately and efficiently.
- Responsibilities
- Complete and verify USDOT / FMCSA compliance, including MCS-150 updates, UCR, and BOC-3
- Coordinate required insurance filings related to interstate and intrastate operations
- Assist with Ohio compliance, including BWC classification, payments, and documentation
- Complete or verify PUCO intrastate authority (if required)
- Organize and standardize required moving documents (estimates, bills of lading, receipts, arbitration statements)
- Register or verify SAM.gov / UEI for contract and bid readiness
- Prepare basic compliance packets for apartments, commercial clients, and contract opportunities
- Track filing status and clearly document what is active vs pending
- Communicate clearly regarding deadlines, follow-ups, and required corrections
- What This Role Is NOT
- Not pharmaceutical, biotech, or FDA-related
- Not clinical trials, chemistry, or manufacturing compliance
- Not an ongoing operations or HR role
- Not an entry-level virtual assistant position
- Experience & Qualifications Required
- Prior experience with FMCSA / USDOT compliance
- Familiarity with Ohio BWC and business insurance coordination
- Experience working with transportation, moving, trucking, or logistics companies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to complete filings with minimal supervision
- Preferred
- Experience with moving companies or small transportation businesses
- Familiarity with SAM.gov / UEI registration
- Experience preparing businesses for commercial or government contracts

- Required filings completed and submitted correctly
- Compliance status verified or clearly documented as processing
- Organized digital compliance documentation delivered
- Clear summary of next steps or renewals (if applicable)
- Project completion within the agreed hour cap and timeline
