About the position
- Responsibilities
- Verify customers' insurance for various medical supplies and equipment.
- Process incoming verification tasks, prescriptions, referrals, and insurance changes.
- Contact clients, caregivers, and doctors to obtain necessary client information.
- Collect and store credit card information for co-pays.
- Load insurance into accounts and build skeleton accounts as needed.
- Research insurance guidelines via the Internet and provider materials.
- Submit reports to leaders as requested.
- Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a Medical Billing role requiring patient insurance verification and account setup.
- 2+ years of medical billing coding experience.
- Ability to follow multi-step procedures and apply attention to detail.
- Proficient in using computer systems and maintaining good records effectively.
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks at various stages of completion.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Nice-to-haves
- Education in Medical Billing and Coding DME is a plus.
