About This Position The City of Phoenix Water Services Department (WSD), one of the nation's largest potable water utilities, treats and delivers safe, reliable drinking water to 1.5 million customers across approximately 540 square miles. Phoenix Water Services also manages the sewer collection system and treats wastewater for 2.5 million residents in metropolitan Phoenix. WSD is currently looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Account Clerk III to join our Management Services division! Role As an Account Clerk III, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial accuracy and efficiency of our operations. Your day-to-day will include: Reviewing and validating invoices in our Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) system. Auditing scanned documents for accuracy and correcting discrepancies before payment. Reconciling vendor statements and managing records. Responding to inquiries from vendors, internal departments, and customers - both by phone and email. Conducting research to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm. Telework up to 2 days a week per supervisor's discretion after initial training period. IDEAL CANDIDATE Exceptional computer skills. Strong communication skills. Customer service face to face and over the phone 2+ years. Comfortable working in a heavy customer service environment. SALARY Pay Range: $21.02 to $31.06 per hour. Hiring Range: $21.02 to $28.17 per hour. Pay Range Explanation Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Preferred Qualifications The minimum qualifications listed above, plus experience in/with: Using SAP, SRM, or comparable enterprise resource management software. Microsoft Word and Excel. Purchasing. Providing training to internal staff. Working as a team lead/supervisor. Handling various transactions while working in a heavy customer service environment. Reconciling receivable and payable statements, reports, logs, and/or other documents. Performing highly detailed data entry in a fast-paced environment and maintaining/auditing records.
