About the position
- Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care activities under the supervision of a physician or mid-level provider.
- Engage in administrative tasks including reception duties and assisting patients and visitors.
- Complete tasks involving assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills.
- Manage the business side of patient visits, ensuring a smooth process for patients.
- Maintain patient records and assist with laboratory functions as needed.
- Requirements
- Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- One year of clinical experience is preferred.
- Medical Assistant (MA) Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 60 days of start date from an accredited organization.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.
- Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is a plus.
