About the position

    Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures and agency-wide policy and procedures as needed to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Support the process of updating policies, procedures, and guidance, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Conduct OMIG self-audits and audits as assigned within the compliance audit work plan, including chart audits and billing audits.
  • Assist in completing timely utilization review (UR) of client documentation for medical necessity admission and continuing stay, and discharge reasons.
  • Monitor to identify patterns, trends, and variances during and from audits.
  • Assist in the development and modification of audit tools based on changing regulations.
  • Actively participate in various compliance committees, subcommittees, and workgroups as Co-Chair or Member.
  • Assist in conducting HIPAA privacy and security investigations in response to reports or alerts of suspected or known privacy violations.
  • Prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective action, monitor and manage the completion of corrective action plans.
  • Develop education and training materials and provide education and training to staff on compliance matters.
    Requirements
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Informatics, Health Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Healthcare Compliance.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).
  • Experience performing audits and developing corrective action plans.
  • Ability to work independently and possess strong communication, analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize critical items.
    Nice-to-haves
  • Experience in Investigation and Training related to Healthcare Compliance (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in conducting Audits and At-Risk Assessment (1 year preferred).
