About the position
- Responsibilities
- Examine fiscal records, student accounts, and related data for federal loans and grants, resolving discrepancies with the University and the US Department of Education systems.
- Coordinate the disbursement, drawdown, and excess cash process for Title IV funds for the University.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of Federal financial aid programs, policies, and regulations.
- Perform data analysis, review reports as needed, and prepare backup documentation for audits.
- Research and evaluate issues raised by Colleges concerning processing, errors, enhancements, and coordinate the communication of issues to appropriate technical and operations staff, committees, and management; monitor issues through resolution.
- Assist with updating fiscal limits to allow the disbursement, Perkins Loan inquiries, and reconciliation.
- Attend and represent the department at various council meetings.
- Coordinate, develop, and update training and resource materials for the Colleges.
- Interact with the Colleges, Central Office staff, internal and external auditors, and administrators as appropriate.
- Provide support for daily functions by running various processes and communicating with College staff as needed.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
- Experience working in financial aid and/or bursar environment.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules (or similar processing technology) and database management programs.
- Knowledge of financial aid Title IV regulations and programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, technical, and research skills.
- Organizational skills to plan and manage a large workload, conflicting priorities, and strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality.
