Job Overview:
Join Verizon's innovative Experience Design team as a Lead Experience Designer, where you'll have the opportunity to revolutionize the retail experience for millions of customers across the United States. As a key member of our team, you'll design and deliver end-to-end customer experiences, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Envision, create, and maintain customer experiences for various consumer-facing products and services
- Provide direction and guidance to the design team, sharing expertise and feedback to drive design excellence
- Mentor junior designers, helping them develop their skills and connect with core disciplines
- Facilitate complex design programs, exploring user context, and engaging in insight-gathering activities
- Collaborate with partners in product, technology, and business to drive design solutions that meet customer needs and business goals
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies
- Communicate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders, ensuring strong design solutions that meet business objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience in experience design, with a portfolio of professional work
- Experience with Agile software delivery environments and common design software (Figma, Adobe, etc.)
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
- Strong understanding of design principles, human-centered design, and customer experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design
- Knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and/or CMS
- Experience working with design systems and digital product design in a retail environment
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product developers and build relationships with stakeholders
- Experience leading end-to-end design projects and contributing to multiple design programs or shipped products
