About the position
- Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between providers, facilities, pharmacies, insurance plans, support staff, and patients.
- Receive, triage, and respond to inbound requests via phone calls and electronic messages.
- Assist with virtual care activities such as gathering and documenting medical history, medication refills, and test result communication.
- Help maintain provider schedules and prepare patients and charts for telehealth encounters.
- Manage outpatient registration, appointment scheduling, referrals to specialists, and patient portal administration.
- Authorize services, equipment, and medications as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assisting Diploma/Certificate from an accredited training program required.
- 1 year of experience in a medical office setting required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Nice-to-haves
- Previous Medical Assistant experience within a Primary Care Medical Group Office.
- Recent medication refill experience.
