About the position
- Responsibilities
- Collects, audits, and examines all documents essential for loan closing, including tracking, engaging, and confirming compliance of all third-party reports.
- Verifies SBA's/USDA's Terms & Conditions in accordance with loan approval and credit analysis based on program participation levels.
- Tracks and funds Guarantee Fee to meet SBA requirements.
- Builds, scans, assembles, and maintains all loan files in accordance with company procedures, processes, and standards.
- Audits, reviews, accepts, or obtains proper approval of all loan documentation preceding and subsequent to loan closing.
- Follows up with applicants or applicable parties as needed to obtain missing information.
- Reviews all information, cross-checks data for inconsistency, and documents any non-standard matters with proper approval.
- Completes and/or reviews all required loan closing documentation following Bank and/or SBA/USDA guidelines.
- Creates and maintains all tracking checklists to validate loan closings are managed within guidelines.
- Enters, updates, and manages data in all loan tracking systems.
- Performs the proper follow-up and collection of post-close documentation to support the loan per tickler reporting.
- Creates, maintains, and distributes status reports to management.
- Manages the closing process to create an efficient and pleasant experience for the client.
- Participates in focus groups to improve the process and contribute suggestions to streamline the process.
- Protects the SBA Guaranty or takes out participation.
- Manages the information flow with banks, legal counsel, and others involved in the loan process.
- Develops close working partnerships with all appropriate parties during the loan documentation, approval, and closing process.
- Accounts for all fees and charges due within each loan file to minimize loss or missed fee reimbursement.
- Prepares and processes all loan funding requests to maintain accurate records, documentation, and account reconciliation.
- Reports all loan inconsistencies and maintains the highest ethical integrity throughout the loan process.
- Provides leadership and mentors other loan administrators.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 7 years of loan documentation or SBA experience.
- Nice-to-haves
- Strong working knowledge of SBA loan packaging, application, and loan documentation (express, 7a, and 504 loan programs).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
- Exceptional computer, internet, and software application skills.
