About the position
The K16 Collaborative Pathway Advisor at Sonoma State University is a temporary full-time position focused on supporting Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in Lake and Mendocino Counties. The role involves facilitating collaboration among stakeholders in the K-16 education system to enhance pathways for middle and high school students, ensuring alignment with regional post-secondary education and employability skills. The advisor will work under the supervision of the Director of K16 Collaborative, contributing to the objectives of the K-16 initiative grant.
- Responsibilities
- Support Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in Lake and Mendocino Counties. ,
- Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders in the K-16 education system. ,
- Ensure alignment of sequential courses with regional post-secondary pathways. ,
- Utilize data to identify existing pathways and gaps among K12 and community colleges. ,
- Focus on education and healthcare pathways for students.
- Requirements
- Graduation from a four-year college or university in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a related field. ,
- Two years of professional experience in student services or a related field. ,
- Experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse students, particularly first generation and low-income students. ,
- Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Nice-to-haves
- Experience with public speaking and classroom management. ,
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Canvas, Camtasia, Adobe products, multimedia, web design, and virtual instruction platforms. ,
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
