Potential for minimal travel for community events.If you reside within the state of Louisiana, you will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and appropriately assign members to staff from the maternity/NICU referral queues
- Assist with and refer from various reports as needed
- Order supplies and equipment for staff and other clerical duties as indicated
- Monitor Healthy First Steps team mailbox
- Maintain daily referral tracker
- Access claims information
- Review and interpret call history documentation (e.g., case notes)
- Navigate between computer screens and platforms to research information (e.g., medical, clinical, or benefits information)
- Take calls and questions from members and/or providers regarding case status
- Reference automated job aid tools via computer to research relevant rules, regulations, or procedures
- Learn computer systems and process changes and updates and incorporate them into daily work
- Contact internal resources if necessary to clarify information
- Identify appropriate resources (e.g., doctor, resource, contracted provider) to respond to medical requests
- Communicate with clinical team to ensure provider receives a response when necessary
- Document call history information into relevant computer system
- Follow standard procedures to complete requests

- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of experience within healthcare with basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Intermediate level of experience with MS Office applications
- Ability to work full-time between 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Must reside within the state of Louisiana
- College degree
- Prior experience within maternity and NICU
- Managed care experience
- Possess planning, organizing, conflict resolution, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Independent problem identification/resolution and decision-making skills
- Ability to interact with individuals and with multidisciplinary teams
- Reside within LA
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
Expected salary: $16.88 - 33.22 per hour
