About the position
The Single Family Fraud Investigations Senior role at Freddie Mac involves conducting mortgage fraud investigations to manage Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risks effectively. This position is integral to the Single-Family Acquisitions Team, which oversees compliance and operational risk within the division. The role requires a combination of analytical skills, compliance knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Ā Perform fraud tip research to identify suspicious activity.

Ā Conduct end-to-end fraud investigations, including mortgage loan file reviews and interviews.

Ā Document findings and conclusions clearly and concisely.

Ā Maintain cycle times for completing investigations.

Ā Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) in accordance with FinCEN requirements.

Ā Design fraud analytics using mortgage loan data to identify patterns and trends.

Ā Analyze mortgage loan portfolio and emerging trends for possible fraud scenarios.

Ā Execute internal controls related to fraud investigations.

Ā Provide complete and accurate investigation data for fraud reporting.
Requirements
Ā AML/Fraud related certification preferred.

Ā Typically has 5+ years' experience in conducting fraud investigations; mortgage fraud experience highly preferred.

Ā Demonstrated experience and expertise in FinCEN reporting requirements.

Ā Experience with industry practices for preventive fraud mitigation and technological solutions.

Ā Strong analytical skills for research and analysis beyond on-field investigations.

Ā Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in written communication.
