Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriting Manager to lead our underwriting and processing teams on a contract basis. This role may transition to a full-time position after 3 months, depending on performance and team needs. The ideal candidate will oversee the training of loan processors and loan officers, handle loan escalations, and manage day-to-day operations to ensure efficient, compliant workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
Β Lead and develop training programs for loan processors and loan officers, with a focus on both QM and Non-QM loan products.
Β Review and manage loan escalations, providing solutions for complex loan files.
Β Provide underwriting expertise, coaching, and guidance to the team.
Β Ensure all loan processing and underwriting operations align with company policies and regulatory standards.
Β Collaborate with senior management to optimize workflow and improve processing efficiency.
Β Perform other general management tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Β Extensive experience in mortgage underwriting, with proficiency in QM and Non-QM loans.
Β Proven ability in training and developing underwriting or processing teams.
Β Strong leadership skills with a record of effectively managing loan escalations.
Β Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations related to mortgage lending.
Β Excellent communication and organizational skills.
