We are looking for a Data Migration specialist/engineer, with hands on experience in Data Migration and Engineering related projects for Utilities sector, particularly in Telecom, Electricity or Gas industries. Job Title: Data migration Specialist (GIS) Location: PAN India Department: Geospatial Employment Type: Full Time Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Computer Science or a related field Experience: 4+ years Requirements Candidate must have core GIS knowledge and experience in the data engineering and data migration projects. The candidate should also have experience with different spatial databases, data structures and format, along with the ability to design and implement workflows. Must Haves: Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in core GIS concepts and tools such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap. Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and spatial databases such as PostgreSQL / PostGIS , Oracle Spatial, and other relational/analytical databases. Experience with data integration and workflow development using ETL tools such as FME Form, FME Flow, or equivalent data transformation platforms. Understanding of GIS data models including network/topology models used in Utilities (Electric, Gas, Water, Telecom). Familiarity with enterprise GIS architectures and data migration frameworks. Soft skills: Superior communication and business acumen: Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to understand and articulate business value. Project management: Exceptional organizational, planning, and estimation skills for successful project delivery in a global setting. Leadership and mentorship: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate globally distributed teams. Good to Have: Familiarity with Python and geospatial libraries (GDAL/OGR, ArcPy , etc.) Experience working with APIs, Feature Services, Map Services, and Tile Services. Exposure to enterprise GIS platform deployment and architecture. Experience with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS. Relevant certifications in GIS or ETL tools.
