They are seeking a passionate Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to assist in the design and analysis of tunnel structures and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex underground infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Assist in the design and analysis of tunnel structures, shafts, caverns, and underground transit systems Support geotechnical and structural assessments using numerical modeling and design software Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers Participate in site investigations, inspections, and construction support activities Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, civil, and environmental engineers Contribute to sustainability and carbon-conscious design initiatives Engage in internal knowledge-sharing and professional development programs Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Strong academic foundation in soil and/or rock mechanics, structural analysis, and underground construction Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Plaxis, FLAC, or similar tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Enthusiasm for working on complex infrastructure projects and learning from industry leaders Internship or co-op experience in tunneling, geotechnical, or heavy civil engineering Exposure to tunnel excavation methods such as tunnel boring machines (TBM), NATM / SEM, or cut-and-cover methods Advanced degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering Benefits 401k Medical Dental and vision insurance Short-term/long-term disability Paid holidays PTO Parental leave Company paid life insurance Company Overview Mott MacDonald focuses on digital innovation, transforming, engineering, management and development.
