I’m looking for an illustrator to create a modular character system for a children’s web app (ages 2–5), along with a set of simple illustrated scenes.
Everything needs to be designed as a layered system where parts combine into complete characters.
If you’ve worked on character builders, avatar systems, or anything modular, that’s a big plus.
What You’ll Be Creating:
You will design a modular character system for a children’s app (ages 2–5). Characters will be built from layered vector parts that must align perfectly and mix together cleanly. This includes head shapes, hair styles, eye shapes, facial features, and boy/girl variations. The head is the most important area and needs the most variation. There are only 2 outfit options, so most differentiation comes from the head.
You will also create full-body versions of the characters with a few poses (neutral and light motion).
In addition, you will design around 24 simple scenes/panels with clean, minimal backgrounds that match the character style.
Everything must be consistent, reusable, and structured so it can be implemented in a web app and print.
In the attached example, there might be a few objects in the more complicated ones. Still simple. The character in it would be one built with the layers you illustrate.
