We're seeking an experienced Medical Intake and Data Entry Specialist to join our Utilization Review Department in Rockford, IL. As a Medical Intake and Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for collecting and processing patient intake information, medical records, and other relevant data to support our utilization review efforts. - Collect and process patient intake information, medical records, and other relevant data to support utilization review efforts
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our electronic health record system
- Verify and validate patient information to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve data discrepancies and ensure accurate patient information
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- *Essential Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, medical records, or a related field) preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in medical data entry, medical records, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems

- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in utilization review or medical records
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Experience with electronic health record systems, including Epic or Cerner
- Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g., RHIT, RMA)
