As a Medical Intake / Data Entry Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Utilization Review Department by collecting and processing medical intake information, performing data entry, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records. - *Key Responsibilities**
- Collect and process medical intake information from patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
- Perform accurate and efficient data entry into electronic health records (EHRs) and other systems
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to resolve data discrepancies and ensure seamless communication
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and arenaflex policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or team lead
- *Essential Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, medical records, or a related field) preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in medical records, data entry, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a utilization review or medical records department
- Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g., CMA, RMA, or RHIT)
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, English, or other languages)
