Job Description
I am looking for a professional copy editor with book editing experience to review a completed manuscript of approximately 29,000 words.
The book is a business novel that introduces a leadership and organizational concept called Operational Debt™ through a fictional story set inside a government agency. The manuscript combines narrative storytelling with business and organizational performance concepts.
The manuscript has already gone through multiple revisions and structural improvements. I am looking specifically for copy editing with light proofreading, not developmental editing.
Scope of Work
The editor will:
Correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Improve sentence clarity and flow where needed
Ensure consistency of terminology and capitalization
Verify the consistent use of the Operational Debt™ trademark
Flag any confusing or awkward sentences while preserving the author’s voice
Deliverables
Edits completed using Track Changes in Microsoft Word or Google Docs
Comments where clarity improvements may be helpful
A clean and consistent manuscript ready for formatting and publishing
